A patch of sky and a view of the mountains peaks through a gap in the buildings of Market Street in downtown Clearfield. Demolition is well underway to make room for the CNB expansion project. According to previous GANT News articles, the first phase of the project starts with the demolition of the buildings, which is expected to be complete within the next few weeks. Plans are well under way for a 17,000-square foot building expansion.
The new construction will begin in the late spring of 2020, with anticipated completion of the project in the second quarter of 2021. Expansion plans are also designed to maintain the historical downtown façade to match Clearfield’s existing architecture.
Two businesses previously located in the buildings have relocated. The Chamber of Commerce has moved to 218 S. Second St., and Lefort’s Sweet Shoppe to 22 N. Third St.; the location also previously housed Happy Events Photography.
