WOMEN’S SWIMMING
INDIANA — Sophomore Paige Mikesell (Clearfield) was a triplewinner, setting a personal record in the 200-yard freestyle, for Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the three-team Pidgeon Memorial Invitational the Crimson Hawks hosted Friday and Saturday.
She stopped the clock at 1:53.97 in the 200 free, won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.70 and turned in the race’s fastest split, 53.68 seconds, for the IUP 400 freestyle relay team that was victorious in 3:42.33.
Mikesell also finished second in the 100 free with a season-best 53.37 time.
She owns wins in 11 individual races and four relay events going into the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships later this month.

WRESTLING
EAST STROUDSBURG — Sophomore 197-pounder Luke McGonigal (Clearfield) remained undefeated in dual meets and reached the 20-win plateau by pinning East Stroudsburg’s Clayton Green at 1:37 in No. 11-ranked Mercyhurst’s 36-9 victory Sunday.
McGonigal, ranked No. 8 in Division II by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, shut out Robert Spezza 7-0 Saturday when the Lakers were handed a 19-17 setback by host Kutztown.
He is 13-0 in duals and 20-5 overall.
Mercyhurst is 10-3 with a 4-1 record against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference foes.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
BRADFORD — Senior Cody Spaid (Clearfield) contributed nine points, seven rebounds and four assists to Pitt-Greensburg’s 92-72 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win over Pitt-Bradford Saturday.
The Bobcats (16-4, 12-3 AMCC) weren’t as successful on their mid-week trip north as host Penn State Behrend dealt them a third conference loss, 66-64, that dropped them two full games behind front-running La Roche.
Spaid tops the team in rebounds (143) and assists (59). He has scored 208 points in his 20 starts while adding 19 steals and 15 blocks.
AMCC stats show him third in field goal percentage (61.6), fifth in defensive rebound average (5.4), eighth in assists and 10th in total rebound average (7.2).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
LATROBE — Freshman Madi Weber (Curwensville) played in back-to-back games for Saint Vincent for the first time last week and totaled 14 points and six rebounds with one steal and one block.
The Bearcats routed visiting Thiel 92-37 Saturday after having a seven-game President’s Athletic Conference winning streak halted at Grove City, 68-65, three nights earlier. They are tied atop the conference with Westminster at 10-1 and stand 14-6 overall.
In eight appearances, Weber has 36 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, five steals and four blocks.

MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Freshman Taye Lynch (Clearfield) made his official debut for Slippery Rock at the Youngstown State National Mid-Major Invitational Saturday and place 12th among 27 triple jumpers from 17 schools.
He covered 13.17 meters (43 feet, 2½ inches) to qualify for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships.
Lynch had competed unattached in the Al Hall Freedom Games at Edinboro the previous weekend and triple jumped 13.07 meters.
