CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough Council held a public hearing Thursday night regarding the inter-municipal transfer of a liquor license between Lawrence Township and Clearfield Borough.

The owners of The After Dark, a bar currently located on Industrial Drive in Lawrence Township, are planning to purchase the old Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 building on Third Street and want to transfer the liquor license to their new location.

The VFW moved all of its operations to their picnic grounds located at 1145 Industrial Park Rd., in November after constructing a larger building there and put their building in the borough up for sale.

The paperwork to transfer the license has been filled out by the owners and the public hearing was the next step in the process.

Council opened the floor to any borough resident wishing to speak. One woman briefly stated that she didn’t think there would be much of a difference since there had been a liquor license there before.

No one spoke against the transfer.

Council passed a resolution to allow for the transfer with Jim Kling making the motion and Steve Harmic seconding the motion.

Council did not have a timeline for when The After Dark will move to their new location.
