CURWENSVILLE – It was a Moshannon Valley League (MVL) game Friday night in Patton Hall at Curwensville High School with the visiting Harmony Owls upending the Curwensville Golden Tide 55-39.
The Tide jumped out to a 12-9 first period edge but then saw the Owls come back with a 15-5 second frame advantage to pull out in front at the half, 24-17.
Still in the game, the Tide managed a 14-14 draw in the third eight minutes of play only to be outscored 17-8 in the final period.
Ty Terry, who injured both wrists in the third quarter, paced the Golden Tide offense with 13 points.
Harmony was led by Curtis Boring with 21 tallies and Jayden Westover chipping in with 12.
In JV action the Owls won an overtime game defeating the Tide 41-35.
Curwensville (1-7) overall and 1-2 in the MVL, will be on the road for its next game, traveling to St. Marys on Tuesday to play Elk County Catholic. The junior varsity game starts at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
