State police at Ridgway
- Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Russell Stewart investigated a camper fire Thursday at 6881 Colonel Drake Hwy., Bell Township. According to the report, the fire completely destroyed the camper, causing $3,000 worth of damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and Stewart was assisted by the Mahaffey Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
- Police responded to a noise complaint that resulted in a warrant service Thursday at the Budget Inn, Clearfield. Upon arrival on-scene, officers located the room in question, finding its curtains ripped down and furniture blocking the door. In addition, a male was reportedly observed hiding behind a bed, and he was identified as 42-year-old Richard Gearhart of Olanta. He was found to have several warrants through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office and Clearfield-based state police. Eventually, police say Gearhart opened the door, and was taken into custody; he was subsequently transported to and housed at the Clearfield County Jail.
