Ridgway Smacks Golden Tide 66-16

RIDGWAY – The Curwensville High Schools boys basketball team went up against unbeaten Ridgway Friday night on the Elkers’ home court and one of the best teams in District 9 took care of business in a big way, smacking the Golden Tide 66-16.

It was basically all over but the shouting after the first eight minutes with the Elkers moving into the second quarter up 25-3.

And by halftime, after a dominating 15-7 second quarter, Ridgway lead 40-10 at the break.

The second half wasn’t much better for Curwensville as they were out scored 26-6 as Ridgway moved to
3-0 on the year while the Tide fell to 1-2.

Ty Terry led Curwensville with nine points, while the Elkers had three in double figures as Matt Dush dumped in 25 points followed by Dan Park’s 16 and Zack Zameroski adding 14,

In junior varsity action the Elkers beat the Tide by a score of 34-22.

Curwensville’s next game will be on Wednesday at West Branch in Moshannon Valley League play with varsity action starting at 7:30 pm.
