PHILIPSBURG – The Osceola Mills Historical Foundation’s annual dinner will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m., at the Elks Country Club in Philipsburg.  Each person attending will be able to order individually from the available menu.

After dinner, David Caslow, the authoritative local Osceola Mills historian, will present a talk and power point picture slide show titled, Osceola Mills: Fires and Floods.

The presentation will cover five devastating fires and two major floods that badly-affected Osceola Mills. Throughout the decades, these disasters have hampered the town’s development and changed its downtown landscape.

The first, on a windy day in May of 1875, nearly wiped out the wooden structured town and spread westward, as far as Sterling and Parsonville.

The public is welcome.  Those wishing to attend should call 814-378-5748 for a reservation.
