CLEARFIELD – A Frenchville man will be spending up to 60 years in state prison for possessing child pornography.
Dennis Paul Hudgens, 69, was found guilty of 50 counts of felony possession of child pornography and criminal conspiracy after a trial in August.
His attorney, Joshua Maines, asked Judge Paul Cherry during court Tuesday to consider that Hudgens’ assistance was instrumental in bringing his co-defendant, Anthony James Terrizzi, to justice.
Hudgens himself addressed the court saying that he thought he had a constitutional right not to be searched and his trial was “rushed.”
He then stated he is a Knights Templar and the “only one who can judge me is God” and “God will take care of it.”
When Judge Paul Cherry commented that he had a right to sentence Hudgens, Hudgens responded “do your worst.”
Cherry then sentenced Hudgens to a total of 30 to 60 years in state prison.
Hudgens, who was not determined to be a sexually-violent predator, will have to register his address with law enforcement under Megan’s Law.
He was ordered to complete counseling and to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Last month, Terrizzi, 56, accused of using a child he was babysitting to create child pornography, pleaded guilty to aggravated indecent assault and photograph/depict sex act of a child in one case and 50 felony counts each of photograph/depict sex act of a child and possession of child pornography in the original case.
Cherry sentenced him at that time to 60 to 120 years in state prison.
According to the affidavit, Terrizzi was arrested by state police after an investigation into child pornography being downloaded by a computer at his address in October of 2018.
A search warrant served Dec. 20 seized the computer that had 50 images of child pornography on it. Hudgens, who was living at that address, was also arrested at that time for having a micro SD memory card in his pocket that included over 500 images of child pornography.
When police interviewed Hudgens, he said Terrizzi showed him pornographic images he had produced of a nine-year-old girl.
The indecent assault charges against Terrizzi were filed in July.
According to the affidavit in that case, investigators say between Dec. 29, 2017 and Dec. 20, 2018, Terrizzi was babysitting the victim when he used a cell phone to produce pornographic videos of the girl in nude and sexualized positions.
