CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors addressed multiple items of business in regards to buildings during Tuesday’s meeting.

For a while now, the supervisors have been discussing moving everything under one roof and have been looking for a new place to call home.  As of yet, the township hasn’t confirmed where it may move its operations to.

Recently, the supervisors advertised the Hyde building for bids after having it appraised. No bids were received, so at Tuesday’s meeting the supervisors voted to advertise the building for sale at a cost of $480,000.

The supervisors approved construction of a new salt shed and advertising for bids for a 48- by 60- by 16-foot pole building, and also bids for a poured concrete pad that will be six inches thick with two bays and 48 feet by 30 feet.

When asked where the salt shed would be constructed, the supervisors would only confirm that it would be constructed some where the road crew can easily access it.

The supervisors also approved a conditional use request for 164 Industrial Park Rd., owned by Russell Real Estate LLC.

Code Enforcement Officer Deb Finkbeiner said the proposed land use is a multi-service center to include, but not be limited to, professional offices, storage rental units, truck terminal, tractor-trailer sales and service, towing, warehousing and wholesaling, auto sales and service and limousine rentals.

Winter road material bids were opened for 1,200-ton more or less of 6S anti-skid and 2,000-ton more or less of 67 limestone purchased from Hanson Aggregates.

The low bids for both came from Woodland Equipment and Supply at $20.05 per ton for the anti-skid and $21.02 per ton for limestone.

A bid for a new police cruiser was also received from C. Classic Dodge for $26,989. The supervisors asked for bids when they realized C. Classic is not a COSTARS dealership and they needed to request bids for the new vehicle. C. Classic was the only dealership to submit a bid.
