LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – A Clearfield couple is facing charges for lying about the whereabouts of a wanted person, Lawrence Township police say.
Police were requested to assist state parole officers with locating a wanted person for whom there was an active felony warrant.
According to police, information was received concerning the person’s whereabouts and authorities responded to the Edgewood Apartment Complex at 11:18 a.m. Friday.
On-scene, contact was made with a 48-year-old woman, Christina Hepfer and a 20-year-old man, Cody Hepfer, both of Clearfield, who allegedly lied to authorities concerning the whereabouts of the wanted person, now identified as Christopher McBride.
Authorities ultimately located McBride hiding in a “cubby hole” within a closet, police say. He was taken into custody and turned over to state parole officers.
Hepfer was also taken into custody on a warrant and lodged in Clearfield County Jail. Both Christina and Cody Hepfer are facing charges for hindering apprehension.
