UNIVERSITY PARK — Senior Brandon Orsich (Clearfield) matched his Penn State DuBois career low with a 76 over the Penn State White Course Thursday to lead the Lions to fourth place in the 11-team Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference’s season-opening tournament.

The Lions posted a four-player aggregate of 325 strokes to finish behind Penn State Lehigh Valley and Penn State Hazleton, which tied at 306, and Penn State North Schuylkill at 314. Brian Zinman’s medalist score of 68 gave Lehigh Valley first-place honors. Jeremy Harper of Hazleton was right behind with a 69.

Freshman Hannah Hoover (Curwensville) turned in a 105 in her debut for the Lions, who had nine players tee off.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

INDIANA — Freshman forward/midfielder Alayna Ryan (Clearfield) assisted on one of sophomore Mahogany Willis’ four goals as Indiana University of Pennsylvania started the season with a 5-0 victory over Glenville (W.Va.) State Saturday.

Ryan also got off two shots for the Crimson Hawks.

Willis also assisted on IUP’s other goal for a program-record nine points.

LOCK HAVEN — Senior linebacker Christian Rumery (Clearfield) was on Lock Haven’s defense to start the second half and registered a solo tackle and an assist in the Bald Eagles’ 57-13 rout of Lincoln in front of 879 fans at Hubert Jack Stadium Saturday evening.

The Bald Eagles blitzed the visitors 45-6 in the first half of their non-conference opener.
