WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – A woman was killed and two other individuals were seriously injured as a result of a two-vehicle crash that occurred near an Interstate 80 off-ramp in Washington Township on Thursday afternoon.

According to DuBois-based state police, it occurred around 3:30 p.m., as a 1999 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling westbound on I-80 and exited at the 90 mile-marker in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

The vehicle failed to stop at the ramp’s intersection with state Route 830 and crossed into the path of a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country.

The Chrysler struck the Trailblazer’s passenger’s side, causing it to overturn. The Trailblazer came to a final rest on its roof.

A woman in the Trailblazer, Megan Darlene Wood, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others in the Trailblazer – Nikkol Kriner and David Sierzega – suffered serious injuries.

A man in Chrysler – Walter Kitko – suffered minor injuries.

Zimmerman Towing removed both vehicles from the scene.

Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Reynoldsville Ambulance, two ambulances from Dusan Community Ambulance in Clearfield County and two medical helicopters assisted at the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours.

The investigation continues.
