DUBOIS – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the start of work has been changed for a local enhancement project on Beaver Drive in DuBois.

The project had been expected to start May 20, but has now been changed to June 3.

The work zone will stretch east from Division Street almost to Shaffer Road. Beginning June 3, crews will be working to install sidewalk, ADA compliant ramps, and bus pull-off areas.

No major traffic delays are anticipated but drivers may encounter intermittent flagging of traffic, if project activity makes it necessary.

Drivers should always be alert for the potential of flaggers in the roadway. All work will take place during daylight hours.

The City of DuBois is the project sponsor and Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion is the contractor for the $577,000 job. Completion is expected before Nov. 5.

PennDOT reminds drivers to use caution in all work zones, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.

PennDOT encourages drivers to “Know before they go” and to check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting  www.511PA.com.

511PA is free, available 24 hours a day, and provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA Web site.
