Sandy Twp. to Propose Long-term Sanitary Sewage Agreement to DuBois City

DUBOIS – On Monday night, the Sandy Township Supervisors voted to send a proposed long-term sanitary sewage agreement to DuBois City.

“I think we finally have what everyone’s been wanting to hear for a long time,” said Supervisor Kevin Salandra. “We have an agreement we want to present to the City [of DuBois].”

Salandra said the township, along with its Manager Shawn Arbaugh, has narrowed down the first proposed agreement to DuBois City to 15 outstanding points.

However, he said these would require further deliberation with attorneys on-hand during an executive session before it could be voted upon.

It was noted that the supervisors had scheduled a telephone meeting for 7:45 p.m., which follows the regular meeting time.

It was debated whether or not to vote following an executive session to get the proposal to DuBois City this week or to hold off another two weeks.

The supervisors said it was just an initial agreement being proposed to the city, and DuBois officials must still discuss and decide whether or not to counter or accept it before it will be made official.

The supervisors later reconvened following an executive session and voted to send the first proposed sanitary sewage agreement to DuBois City.
