Clearfield Borough

  • Police are investigating an alleged theft that occurred along East Pine Street. Police say a package was delivered and then removed before the rightful owner could retrieve it.
  • Police received a report about an altercation between neighbors along East Pine Street. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
  • Police received a report about a theft at a local business. Surveillance footage allegedly showed a known female taking items and placing them in her purse; she then proceeded to leave without paying for them. Charges are currently pending at this time.
  • Police received a report about a mental health emergency on Nichols Street. Upon arrival, police made contact with a male who agreed to go to the hospital for an evaluation.
  • Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle along Nichols Street.
  • Police received a report about a syringe found along Bridge Street. Police were able to properly collect it.

Sandy Township

  • Police received a report about a scam on Wednesday. According to police, a resident answered an advertisement in the paper for a psychic reading. She subsequently sent a woman $3,500 for services; however, she never received them. Sandy Township police would like to remind residents to never send money to anyone that they cannot verify to be legitimate.
  • Police received a report about a vehicle being driven erratically Wednesday on the Bee Line Highway. During a traffic stop, officers allegedly found the 40-year-old Penfield woman in possession of pills and drug paraphernalia.
  • Police received a report about a hit-and-run crash Thursday. According to police, a 39-year-old Luthersburg man said his vehicle was stopped along Shaffer Road at the intersection with the Bee Line Highway when a maroon Chevy S-10 rear-ended it. Then, its driver turned right onto the Bee Line Highway and headed north without stopping. No injuries and minor damage were reported as a result.
  • Police received a report about a phone scam on Thursday. According to police, a resident received a call from someone claiming to be from a jail in Canada and that they had her nephew in custody. She said they subsequently requested $1,000 in pre-paid Visa cards in order for him to be released. She complied with their request before realizing it was a scam.  Police would like to remind residents that a law enforcement agency will not call and request money for the release of a loved one.
