CLEARFIELD – A generous donation was made to the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County thanks to CBT Bank, a division of Riverview Bank.

According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., the bank recently gave $1,000 to the CAC-CC. He expressed thanks for its support, noting these funds will help provide vital services to victimized children.

Shaw said that the CAC-CC is a “safe, child-friendly center” and the place children visit for forensic interviews and referrals for services that aim to help them heal.

He said the center brings together a Multi-Disciplinary Investigative Team (MDIT) of specially-trained professionals who review and investigate cases of child abuse and assist children and their families.

He said that throughout the investigation and intervention processes, the CAC-CC is designed to be a “child-focused and reduced-stress experience” for both child abuse survivors and their non-offending family members.

“By focusing first on the needs of children and their families, the CAC-CC ensures that many vital services are provided while improving the quality of investigations throughout Clearfield County,” Shaw said.
