BROOKVILLE BOROUGH (EYT) – Authorities say a Brookville man who is employed as a teacher at Brockway Area School District has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Brookville Borough Police Chief Vince Markle told exploreJeffersonPA.com that 46-year-old Mike Wonderling is being charged with possession of child pornography.

Wonderling is a math teacher with the Brockway Area School District.

Police say Wonderling viewed or downloaded child pornography on his home computer over 30 times, beginning in November of 2018.

Police said information was obtained regarding the possession of child pornography through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Pennsylvania State Police Computer Forensics Unit also assisted in the investigation.

Wonderling was taken into custody at the school on Wednesday. He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.

Brockway Superintendent Jeff Vizza said the school currently has very little information on the situation.

“At this point, the district is not privy to any information regarding the situation,” said Vizza. “All we know is that none of our students were endangered or involved. We are waiting to hear what is going on.”
