GLENDALE – On Thursday, April 11, Glendale Elementary held its first-ever Bus Driver Appreciation Day.
Drivers were treated with a parade of honor, letters and cards of thanks from the students and staff, donuts, juice, coffee and a travel mug to take with them.
Students and staff wore yellow to show their appreciation. “Bus drivers work hard every day to keep our students safe. It was our pleasure to dedicate a day in their honor to show our sincere appreciation for them,” said Principal Kate Bacher.
“They are the first to see our kids in the morning and the last to see them in the afternoon. They are a big part of our Glendale family.”
Bill Jones, owner of Jones’ Transportation, said: “I thought it was very touching. The kids really took their time and made heartfelt cards. It was a very nice recognition of the work our drivers and staff do every day.”
