BIGLER — In order to better serve its consumers, Cen-Clear will begin offering Open Access to its mental health and drug and alcohol services. This will take place at its Clearfield and Punxsutawney offices.
Cen-Clear’s Clearfield location will accept walk-in consumers seeking mental health and drug and alcohol services from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.
Cen-Clear’s Punxsutawney office will accept walk-in clients for drug and alcohol services from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mondays and walk-in clients for mental health services from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays.
Cen-Clear staff will gather the necessary information from the client. Cen-Clear clinical supervisors will then screen the clients and evaluate their needs. Consumers are asked to bring along their driver’s license or state-issued identification and their insurance card when they visit.
For consumers seeking services who do not have insurance please bring your driver’s license or state-issued identification and Cen-Clear will assist you with finding coverage for your services. Cen-Clear accepts all ages.
Certified Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC)
Cen-Clear’s Clearfield and Punxsutawney offices are both CCBHCs. CCBHC’s are designed to ensure those most in need of services have access to them, especially if they are need of multiple services.
The CCBHC’s take a big-picture approach to mental health and drug and alcohol treatment. Instead of just focusing on each little piece, the clinics focus on the entire picture including mental health, drug and alcohol issues and physical health.
Cen-Clear partners with designated collaborating organizations that provide additional services to help clients get all the help and support they need to reach their full potential.
Cen-Clear History
Cen-Clear was established in 1980 to provide Head Start services in Centre and Clearfield County and has worked closely with local school districts and communities ever since to ensure that preschool is available to as many children as possible.
Cen-Clear realized all the issues children faced in preschool couldn’t be resolved in a classroom setting. At the time there were limited options for young children in need of mental health services so Cen-Clear began offering mental health services to all ages. Mental health issues sometimes lead to drug and alcohol issues so it began offering these services as well.
Today, Cen-Clear offers mental health services to children, adolescents and adults in 12 counties and drug and alcohol services in four counties. CenClear’s administrative office is located in Bigler, Clearfield County.
