State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between Sunday and Monday on the Morrisdale-Allport Highway in Morris Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged a Morrisdale man’s mailbox. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
Lawrence Township
- Police were contacted Monday about a bike that was found in the area of Montgomery Run and Coal Hill roads. If this bike belongs to you, please contact the township police station with a detailed description.
Sandy Township
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Friday. According to police, a vehicle driven by a St. Marys man backed into a vehicle driven by a Fall River, Mass., woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot. No injuries and minor to moderate damage were reported on-scene.
- Police received a report about a theft on Friday. During the incident, someone allegedly used a local woman’s account to purchase a new cell phone, valued at $1,200, in New Jersey. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an unwanted person on Friday. According to police, a 40-year-old Circle Road man said his grandchild’s mother came to his residence to see the child and he didn’t want her there. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle crash on Friday at Wal-Mart. According to police, a vehicle operated by a 28-year-old Tozier Avenue woman was backing out of a parking space at the same time as another vehicle, which caused the two to hit. The woman, however, wasn’t able to get the other driver’s information.
- Police reported a false alarm Saturday at S&T Bank.
- Police received a parking complaint Saturday at Save A Lot. According to police, a 60-year-old man said that a vehicle, which didn’t have a visible handicapped placard, was parking in a handicap spot, and he was blocking the vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle owner was a 90-year-old Korean War veteran who did have a valid placard that he hadn’t displayed.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sunday. According to police, a 29-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle on Rockton Road near David Reed Road after a deer ran out in front of her. Her vehicle traveled across the roadway where it left the pavement, causing it to slide and strike an embankment; this, in turn, caused the vehicle to overturn onto its roof. Minor injuries and moderate damage to the vehicle were reported on-scene. Police say the woman showed signs of impairment and when she was transported to the hospital, a legal blood draw was done. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported a false alarm at the Aldi’s store on Sunday.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run Sunday. According to police, a 27-year-old DuBois woman said while her vehicle was parked along Wilson Avenue, it was hit and damaged. Police say there was damage to the driver’s side front wheel, fender, doors and rear fender with a white or silver paint transfer. The offender did not leave any contact information.
