HYDE — Because inclement weather postponed the 11th Annual Clearfield Bison Duals back on January 19, they are now set to take place this Saturday, February 9.
Twelve teams will hit the resilite in the Clearfield Bison and Artur J. Weis Gymnasiums to try and lay claim to this year’s title.
The returning champion DuBois Beavers are back to defend their crown. The host Bison, winners of the first two Bison Duals (2009, 2010), will be joined by two former Duals champions, West Branch (2014) and Montoursville (2016), looking to end the Beavers’ reign.
Forest HIlls earned the top seed overall for the tourney and will be looking for their first title. Other returning entrants are Union City, Port Allegany, Altoona, James M. Coughlin, and Benton. Rounding out the field as newcomers to the event are Glendale and Bradford.
Action will begin with pool matches at 8:15, 9:30, and 10:45. Pool play will determine the consolation round-robin and championship bracketed match-ups, which will start at approximately noon and will culminate with the first and third place bouts at around 5:00 pm in the Weiss Gym.
Pool A – Forest Hills, Montoursville, Altoona
Pool B – DuBois, West Branch, James M. Coughlin
Pool C – Union City, Clearfield, Benton
Pool D – Port Allegany, Glendale, Bradford
The host Clearfield Bison will wrestle Benton at 9:30 and then wrestle Union City at 10:45, both in the Bison Gym.
