Recently Ron Rea “Dak” was caught paying it forward by choosing his friend, Dan Malloy, as the recipient of his annual fundraiser “Goin Golfin.”

Dan has been battling a bone marrow disorder, myelofibrosis, for some time. He continues to follow with specialists at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and Dr. Fu with the Yingling Cancer Center.

While Dan and his family are humbled by the kindness and generosity of Rea and those who participated in the event, Dan has donated the proceeds to Clearfield’s Yingling Cancer Center.

Dan wanted to help patients in the Clearfield community that are struggling to meet their expenses for copays, medications and transportation costs.

For more information regarding myelofibrosis, please visit mayoclinic.org.
