PHILIPSBURG – Have you ever thought that if you had money, everything would be OK? Well, a new documentary coming to Philipsburg on Nov. 13 might convince you otherwise.
David and Jackie Siegel are the richest couple in Orlando, Fla., and currently building the largest home in America at a whopping 90,000 square feet.
You might remember the couple from the unforgettable 2012 hit documentary, “The Queen of Versailles.”

In 2015, it should have been the Siegel family’s best year yet. Business was booming and life was a fairytale until the unimaginable happened.
On June 6, 2015, David and Jackie’s 18-year-old daughter, Victoria Siegel, was found unresponsive in their mansion from a drug overdose; she was pronounced dead that same day.
“It’s so hard to describe the pain,” Jackie shared. “It’s almost [as if] your insides are ripped out … It’s like a part of me died.”
David added that: “It’s the worst phone call any family can receive, but when we received it, I decided that I was going to spend the rest of my life dedicated to saving lives.”
Their documentary, “The Princess of Versailles,” will be featured at the Veritas Film Festival, which is being brought to Pennsylvania by Spencer Folmar, director of “Generational Sins.”
It’s the story of how this high-profile couple’s grief was transformed into a determined mission to save lives.
It’s an uplifting and hope-filled film featuring the billionaires at the center of a growing movement to conquer the opioid epidemic that is plaguing the nation.
“The Princess of Versailles” had its world premiere in Tampa, Fla., in March of this year and most recently was chosen to close out the Central Florida Film Festival in Mount Dora, Fla.
Tuesday’s screening will be the Pennsylvania premiere, which is especially exciting for the film’s director, Cinnamon Monteville of DuBois.
Monteville and Jackie Siegel will both be present at the 3 p.m. screening Tuesday at the Rowland Theatre in Philipsburg.
“This is a movie about moving forward after loss,” Monteville commented, adding, “I don’t know how you could watch David and Jackie’s story and not feel moved. I’m very proud of them.”
