CLEARFIELD – Members of the Susquehanna River Arts Center of Clearfield (SRACC), a non-profit organization, received a grant from the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation to support the student artwork from the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.

Students, (center from left to right) Rileigh Jordin, Jordan Mallon and Casen Zitzelberger, painted murals depicting the flora and fauna of the Susquehanna River along with others students who were not shown in the picture: Makeeli Redden, Haley Owens, Laney Hudson, Lindsay Hand, Mindy Fleming, Kyler Rosinsky and Madison Oswalt.

Mason Strouse, Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Inc. representative (far right), reported that the murals will be mounted on the CAST building in the upcoming weeks.

Marsha Coble, Clearfield Lowe’s representative (far left), supported the project through contributions of lumber and materials along with Lezzer Lumber Co. of Curwensville and H&H Hardware.

When school budgets are reducing art opportunities, SRACC is opening the doors to a new art center and marker-space for children, youth and adults.

The community is encouraged to attend upcoming events that will be posted on the Susquehanna River Arts Center Facebook page.

The new SRACC center is located next to the Ritz Theater and will be opening soon. Donations are needed to complete construction and furnishings in the center.

You can show your support for the arts in the community by contacting 814-765-5700 with your contribution today.
