Bridge Replacement Complete; Detour Lifted on Route 3007

OLANTA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting area drivers that a bridge replacement project on Route 3007 (Douglas Road) is complete and the detour around the job has been lifted.

Since mid-June, crews have been working to replace a bridge spanning Big Run on Route 3007 in Pike Township, about two miles northwest of the village of Olanta.

The detour made use of Route 453, Zion Road (Route 2012) and Douglas Road (Route 3007). With the bridge open to traffic, the detour has been removed.

This project was a joint effort between PennDOT and Grannas Brothers Stone and Asphalt Co. Inc. of Hollidaysburg. PennDOT Clearfield County Maintenance performed excavation of the old box culvert and back-filling of the new box culvert.

The contractor installed the new box, paved the approaches and roadway and installed guiderail.

The new box culvert will carry an average of nearly 400 vehicles daily. Replacement will remove this structure from Clearfield County’s list of bridges in “poor” condition.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting  www.511PA.com.

511PA is free, available 24 hours a day, and provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA Web site.
