CLEARFIELD – A Munson man pleaded guilty to carrying a gun without a license in Clearfield County Court Monday.
Gage Michael Allen Hubler, 20, who also pleaded guilty to public drunkenness, was sentenced to six months to one year in jail and one year consecutive probation by Judge Fredric J. Ammerman.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 21, police were called to a Morris Township residence where a man was reportedly hallucinating while carrying a gun around the front yard.
When police arrived, they saw Hubler standing in the front yard of the residence. He was mumbling and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
Hubler was standing next to a truck that was littered with various items. Police learned that he was actually living in it.
After Hubler gave consent for the truck to be searched, the officer found a .22 caliber revolver in a lock box in the front center console. The serial number on the bottom of the grip was painted over with thick, yellow paint that obscured the number.
Hubler admitted to being in possession of the gun and to being under the influence of methamphetamine.
