CLEARFIELD – An Osceola Mills man will be spending time in state prison for his involvement in a local cocaine ring.
Leroy Philip Bryant, 58, was charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of communication facility after a raid on his Philipsburg apartment in June of 2017.
Bryant told investigators that his nephew, Todd Anderson, was his source for cocaine.
Anderson, along with his wife, Catherine Anderson; her brother, Robert Gavlak and their mother, Pamela Gavlak, were part of what Attorney General Josh Shapiro called a $10,000 a month cocaine ring.
Bryant pleaded guilty Tuesday before Judge Fredric J. Ammerman and was sentenced to eight to 16 years in state prison.
When asked if he had anything to say by Ammerman, Bryant commented that he wanted to “just get it over with.”
According to a press release from the Attorney General’s office, Todd Anderson was the one who was bringing two to three ounces of cocaine into Clearfield County from Beaver County a few times a month.
The individuals were identified after a series of controlled drug purchases from this family.
Investigators seized more than 70 grams of cocaine, $2,750 in cash and drug paraphernalia through raids in Houtzdale in March of 2017 and Philipsburg in June of 2017.
In March Todd Anderson pleaded guilty and was sentenced to eight to 16 years in state prison.
Robert Gavlak was sentenced to 11.5 months to two years less one day in the county jail and five years probation in April.
Pamela Gavlak and Catherine Anderson are also reportedly pleading guilty with their sentencing hearings set for July.
