Our Lady of the Valley No. 10376 of Houtzdale and the St. John XXIII No. 16090 Curwensville and Grampian Councils of the Knights of Columbus have completed a year of fundraising and purchasing of warm winter coats, sweatshirts, gloves and underwear for elementary-aged school children in the Clearfield County area.
These personal clothing items are distributed to children in need. Childhood poverty is not always obvious, but it indeed exists locally. Both councils work with administration from area schools to ensure that confidentiality and scrutiny are upheld by school personnel and that receiving students are not identified.
Participating school districts are Clearfield, Curwensville, Dubois, Glendale, Moshannon Valley, St. Francis and West Branch
