CLEARFIELD – A 49-year-old Woodland man, James McGonigal, is wanted for failure to appear for court in his burglary case.
According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., McGonigal failed to appear for criminal call May 3, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Nov. 27, 2017, Trooper Dennis Peters of the Clearfield-based state police charged McGonigal with burglary, F2; criminal trespass, F2; theft by unlawful taking, F3; theft by deception, F3; and criminal mischief, S.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Peters was dispatched to a reported burglary at a local business on Aug. 9, 2017.
Upon arrival, Peters met with employees who indicated that tools were missing. They had also observed footprints and damage to the business’ door.
Peters also spoke with a male who said he’d purchased some tools from McGonigal recently. He contacted state police after learning about the stolen tools.
On a later date, Peters made contact with McGonigal, who allegedly admitted to burglarizing the business.
A preliminary hearing was held Dec. 6, 2017, at which time all charges were held to court. On May 3, McGonigal failed to appear at criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
McGonigal is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
