Helen S. Rowles, 88, of Clearfield died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Donnell House, Washington.

She was born Nov. 1, 1929, a daughter of the late Angelo and Sarah (Caroleo) Spagnolo.

Mrs. Rowles retired from the Clearfield Area Middle School.  In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her family and crocheting.

She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

She is survived by two children, Harold D. ‘Butch’ Rowles of Canonsburg and Bethany Kramer Koneski and her husband, Edward of Houston; four grandchildren, Amanda Rowles, Ashley Cramer, Kiley Turner and her husband, Jon and Nicholas Kramer; five great-grandchildren, Bailey Rowles, Maliha and Tytun Barney and Kendall and Blake Cokain; and a brother, Raymond Spagnolo of Greensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Rowles, on April 17, 2001; a son-in-law, Allen Kramer; four sisters, Josephine Shaw, Ann Howe, Frances ‘Chich’ Hitchcock and Virginia ‘Dena’ Wilson; and two brothers, Anthony and John Spagnolo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Fr. Brandon Kleckner as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

The rosary will be recited at 5:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield, or to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second St., Clearfield.
