CLEARFIELD – The Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County has received a donation from a local Girl Scout Troop.

According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., Girl Scout Troop 41997 from Houtzdale made a donation of Girl Scout cookies to the Child Advocacy Center.

Shaw explained that these Girl Scouts have been collaborating with the CAC-CC to help increase awareness of child abuse prevention for two consecutive years.

These Girl Scouts first became involved with the CAC-CC last year, he said, while working on their “Bronze Award,” which is a “great honor” for them to earn.

Shaw said that this year, they donated Girl Scout cookies to the center. During their sales, he noted the girls had a space on their forms for donations.

These “Gifts of Caring” are donated to the organization of the Girl Scout Troop’s choice. Troop 41997 selected to donate their cookies to the CAC-CC.

Shaw said the cookies will be for when children victims visit the center. He thanked the Girl Scouts for their generous donation and continued support of the CAC-CC.
