State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between April 6 and Tuesday at the Wayne Road Storage Units in Winslow Township. During the incident, someone allegedly cut the lock from a storage unit. Then, they fled. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of assault that occurred Sunday at the Jefferson County Jail. During the incident, an inmate allegedly broke another inmate’s nose. Charges were filed through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Sunday at a local residence. At the time of the incident, a known male was staying with a female. He allegedly stole two cell phones, a cell phone charger and $150 in cash from her.
- Police received a report about four bad checks being passed by a known female at the Sheetz store in Lawrence Township.
- On Tuesday police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Village Road after observing a wanted male inside a vehicle. Upon investigation, it was found that the driver was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance and also in possession of a sawed-off shotgun. Police say the gun was loaded and tucked in between the driver’s seat and center console. Police took the driver into custody and to the hospital for a legal blood draw. Charges will be filed as a result of the incident.
DuBois City
- Police were requested to contact a female who was reportedly being harassed by her sister for money that was owed to her. She didn’t have the money and advised she’d pay when she did. Police made contact with the female’s sister and she was told to cease her actions.
- Police assisted a disabled motorist who was blocking the entrance of the Social Security Office. Police contacted towing services per the motorist’s request.
