CLEARFIELD – April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County has received a donation.
According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., the Moshannon Valley Correctional Center, owned and operated by the GEO Group Inc., made a donation of $3,000 to the center.
Shaw said that each year, MVCC staff members select an organization for which to raise funds. This year, it selected the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County.
During the past year, the MVCC staff members conducted a number of fundraisers, including a basket raffle, yard game competitions, a chili cook-off, a biggest loser challenge and various other raffles.
Shaw thanked the MVCC staff members for their generous donation and support.
