Curwensville Woman Waives Hearing for Allegedly Performing Oral Sex on 14-Year-Old Boy

CLEARFIELD – A Curwensville woman has been accused of performing oral sex on a 14-year-old boy.

Lydia Mairka Opalisky, 20, has been charged by Officer Zachary S. Cowan of the Lawrence Township police with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse/person less than 16 years, F1; aggravated indecent assault/complainant less than 16 years, F2; statutory sexual assault/4-8 years older, F2; indecent assault/person less than 16 years, M2; and corruption of minors/defendant age 18 or above, F3.

On Wednesday Opalisky waived her right to a preliminary hearing during centralized court at the Clearfield County Jail. Her bail has been set at $25,000 unsecured.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Dec. 22, 2017, Cowan received a report from Children & Youth Services about rumors of Opalisky performing oral sex on the boy. Further, it stated the incident occurred over the summer but had only been reported to CYS recently.

Upon investigation and through interviews with the victim, Cowan determined the incident occurred in June. Opalisky had provided the victim a ride home from the Hyde Fire Hall. When they arrived at the victim’s residence, his parents were not at home.

Opalisky and the victim were talking inside her vehicle and it led to them kissing. It allegedly escalated to her removing his pants and performing oral sex.

The victim told police this occurred one time, and it felt weird because Opalisky was older than him. He also said that he didn’t have any sexual contact with her. He was asked to provide a detailed written statement, which he did.

On Jan. 4, Opalisky was interviewed as part of the investigation. In his affidavit, Cowan wrote that she lied several times and it was apparent that she was attempting to protect herself.

She claimed that nothing would have happened due to their age difference. However, she eventually confessed that it did happen but could not provide a date of the incident.

She also said it happened once and sometime between June and July inside her parked vehicle at the victim’s residence. She thought it possibly happened on a Thursday evening after her EMT class.

Cowan said he felt throughout the interview that Opalisky wasn’t completely honest and he detected “signs of deception.” He requested a written statement, at which time she became uncooperative and refused.
