PHILIPSBURG – A 35-year-old Clearfield man, August Grannis, has been accused of stalking and threatening a woman.

According to Philipsburg-based state police, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Grannis attempted to learn the whereabouts of the woman.  He located her at an East Maple Street residence and parked his vehicle nearby.

Grannis started to rev his engine and contacted the woman. He allegedly threatened that if she didn’t come out, he was going to “kick in the door and slice her throat.” Then, he left the area, and the woman called state police.

State police charged Grannis with terroristic threats, stalking and harassment and obtained an arrest warrant. Grannis was subsequently taken into custody Tuesday.
