CLEARFIELD – Here is an overview highlighting the items of business addressed at this week’s Lawrence Township Supervisors’ meeting.
- The road crew members will begin their summer hours on April 2 with four-day weeks, Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning the first full-week of May, the hours will be 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At the request of supervisor Randy Powell, the office will remain open five days a week.
- Police statistics continue to rise compared to statistics from the same period last year. Criminal arrests are 60 verses 53, traffic arrests are 163 versus 86, traffic stops are 150 versus 64, warrants served are 85 versus 25 and incidents are 815 versus 794. There were 10 DUIs.
- Lawrence Township Police Officer Craig Kanour was named officer of the month.
- Glenn O. Hawbaker was awarded the bid for driving surface aggregate for Pifer Road at $30.65 per ton or $32,795.50 for 1,070 ton, more or less.
- About 90 repairs to laterals in the Hyde area were completed after letters were sent. There are 13 committed to repairs and 16 that have not responded. About 160 letters may still be sent out as investigations continue.
- Residents are to be aware of work in the Park Avenue Extension area by Penelec, which will result in an outage March 15 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
