DUBOIS – Four entities have submitted letters of interest in regards to purchasing Sandy Township’s water and sewer systems.

Last night, the Sandy Township Supervisors resumed discussions from the Feb. 5 Sandy Township Municipal Authority meeting to review available options.

Officials sent out nine requests to specific entities and five didn’t respond by deadline, according to Township Manager Dave Monella.

The four letters of interest came from the following companies and municipalities:

  • Pennsylvania American Water
  • Aqua PA
  • DuBois City
  • Suez Water

Aqua PA currently operates Treasure Lake’s water and sewage systems.  Sandy Township is currently a customer of DuBois City.

The supervisors decided to request bids from all four entities.  The deadline for submission will be March 20 in order to give the supervisors time to review.

Once necessary information from Sandy Township’s auditor is provided, a detailed packet of information will be sent to each entity by e-mail and overnight mail no later than Feb. 21.
