State police at Philipsburg
- State police reported on a drug investigation that occurred Jan. 23 on East Oak Street in Port Matilda Borough. According to state police, a U.S. Postal Service inspector advised that there was a delivery of marijuana to a couple’s address. More than eight pounds of marijuana was allegedly delivered and a search warrant turned up an additional two pounds of the drug, an illegal shotgun and psychiatric medications. The couple, Destiny J. Hetrick, 25, and Rakim E. Thomas, 24, were charged as a result of the investigation.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Thursday at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. During the incident, a juvenile allegedly punched the victim when they became involved in an altercation. He was charged for the incident through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Thursday at Label Shopper in Clearfield. During the incident, a couple entered the store and allegedly concealed various clothing items. Police say they didn’t attempt to make any payment and left the store. Both were cited for retail theft as a result of the incident.
- Police received a report about an incident of trespassing that occurred Thursday at Wal-Mart in Clearfield. Police conducted a traffic stop at the store and a passenger was found to have previously trespassed. She was cited for the incident.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about a reckless driver in the area of Fredricka Avenue and Station Street. Police are reminding residents that children are walking to their bus stops and they should obey the speed limit at all times.
- Police assisted the Domestic Relations office with an attempt to locate a person in the Griffith Avenue area. However, police say their search was unsuccessful.
- Police received a report about an incident of fraud from a Bloomington Avenue resident. Police requested the caller to submit further information and a written statement.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief on Anderson Avenue. During the incident, a resident’s mailbox was damaged and possibly by a large truck.
- Police assisted the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office with serving a warrant at a North Street residence.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct at a Meadow Street residence. Upon investigation, police found the door was open; a resident couldn’t be found inside. Police also observed broken glass on the ground. When police located the resident, they were advised of many code violations and changes that would have to be made. Police also advised that if the violations were not addressed, the next time, it would result in an arrest.
DuBois City
- Police reported that a wallet was turned in after being found on East Park Avenue. It was returned to its owner.
- Police were requested to contact a female in reference to harassment. However, police weren’t successful in contacting her.
Sandy Township
- Theft-related charges are currently pending against a 21-year-old Stump Creek woman. She was allegedly caught taking a total of $550 on 13 separate occasions from her cash drawer while working at Wal-Mart.
- On Wednesday a woman reported that her granddaughter’s wallet was missing. It might have been lost in the area of The DuBois Commons.
- On Thursday a 49-year-old Falls Creek man was driving on South Main Street when a deer jumped out in front of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle hit the deer. Moderate damage and no injuries were reported to police.
