CLEARFIELD – Joseph B. Bower Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank, is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Cory Johnston to vice president/controller for CNB Financial Corp.
In this position, Johnston will lead the finance department. He will also oversee financial and regulatory reporting for the bank’s 41 branch offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York.
Additionally, he will act as the primary liaison with external audit and tax firms and serve on the Management Asset-Liability (ALCO) Committee and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Committee.
“During his short time in the finance department, Cory has led several projects and initiatives that have added significant value to our customers and shareholders,” said Bower.
“He displays a tireless work ethic, attention to detail and effective communication skills. We are pleased to recognize his efforts.”
Johnston joined CNB in 2006 as a credit analyst, and in 2011 he was promoted to a leadership position in the credit administration department.
In 2015 he was promoted to assistant vice president/credit administration and in April of 2017, he transitioned to the finance department to assume the role of assistant vice president/controller.
Prior to joining CNB, Johnston was employed as a staff accountant with Sharkey Piccirillo Keen & Hanzely LLP, an accounting firm located in Dubois.
A native of Curwensville, he graduated from the Curwensville Area High School in 2000 before attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Gannon University in 2003.
Johnston currently resides in Clearfield with his wife, Devon and children, Eloise, Dinah, Audra and Dusten.
