CLEARFIELD – An Osceola Mills man has been accused of pointing a shotgun at his wife during a domestic incident earlier this month.

Mark Stevens Earnest, 52, has been charged by the Clearfield-based state police with terroristic threats, M1; simple assault, M3; and harassment, S. Bail has been set at $50,000, which he’s posted.

Earnest had his preliminary hearing continued during centralized court Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail. It has been re-scheduled for June 20, 2018.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, at approximately 3:04 a.m. Dec. 11, the victim reported she’d been involved in an argument with her husband, identified as Earnest, at their residence.

Earnest allegedly had a shotgun, and it was pointed in her direction. He went down the hallway and she tried to pull the gun away from him. When Earnest pulled it back, the victim cut her left hand on the front-end sight.

Earnest then went outside, she said, and she went after him. When she got to him, he turned around and allegedly punched her in the face. Both Earnest and the victim were inside the residence when state police arrived at the scene.

State police observed that the victim had a laceration on her left hand and that dried blood was coming from her nose.
