State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Oct. 20-27 on the Tyrone Pike in Rush Township. During the incident, several kittens disappeared that belonged to the victim. State police are continuing their investigation.
- State police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Oct. 29 on Loch Lomond Road in Rush Township. Following a traffic stop, a 43-year-old woman was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges will be filed through the district court upon receipt of blood test results.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred sometime Sunday or Monday on the Million Dollar Highway in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s residence and removed a chainsaw valued at $300; a fly rod valued at $250; approximately $50 in miscellaneous U.S. Currency; and approximately three dozen traps valued at approximately $720. State police are continuing their investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Lawrence Township
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female at the Snappy’s Convenience Store on Route 879.
- Police received a report about an attempted burglary on Barn Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of contraband at the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of public drunkenness and trespassing at the Comfort Inn. Police say a female was lodged in jail on a warrant from Rockview and the male for a public drunkenness charge.
- Police received a report about a psychological emergency.
- Police received information about a wanted person. Officers found the male was wanted on a probation warrant, and he was lodged in jail.
- Police received a report about a vehicle accident at Sapp Bros.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a male who was throwing knives into picnic tables at the City Park. Upon arrival, police found the male and he was in possession of throwing knives. He admitted to throwing the knives into a pavilion post. Police cited the male for disorderly conduct.
- Police received a report about a stolen vehicle in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found it had been returned by the individual who had borrowed it. Police may file traffic citations for the incident.
- Police received a report about a stolen cellular phone from a South Main Street resident. According to police, a female admitted to taking the phone. She returned it after being contacted by police.
- Police received a report about children who were left inside a vehicle in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police observed the vehicle being driven away. Police made contact with an adult female, and there will not be any arrests.
- Police received a report about a person who was hiding outside of a business on Maple Avenue. According to police, an employee exited the business and was startled by a male hiding in the shadows. The male allegedly struck the employee and was able to flee the area. Police were unable to locate the male.
- Police received a report about a verbal domestic dispute on Osborn Avenue. Upon arrival, police found there wasn’t any physical assault, and the male wanted to leave the residence.
- Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on North Brady Street. According to police, a vehicle was traveling south in the center lane when it struck another vehicle that was leaving Sheetz. No injuries were reported as a result, and one vehicle was towed from the scene.
- Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Maple Avenue. According to police, a vehicle was traveling east when it failed to stop for the vehicle ahead, which was stopped in traffic. Police say a passenger refused emergency transport but sought treatment on their own. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
- Police responded to a report of an overdose at a South Avenue residence. According to police, a female snorted heroin and started an opioid overdose. She was taken to the Penn Highlands Hospital for treatment. Police are currently investigating a potential suspect.
- Police received a report about a Quarry Avenue woman being harassed via text message over child custody. Police contacted the person responsible and advised them of the complaint.
- Police received a report about a person knocking on an East Long Avenue woman’s apartment door. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate anyone in the area. Officers continued to check the area throughout the night but were unable to locate anyone.
- Police received a report about two suspicious males who were walking in the neighborhood and possibly trying door knobs in the Garfield Avenue area. Upon arrival, police found the males were campaigning for a candidate and hanging door hangers.
- Police received a report about two retail theft suspects at Martin’s Grocery. The females allegedly filled a grocery cart and exited the store without paying; the attempted theft was valued at $375.11. Both females, including one who had fled, have been arrested by police.
- Police received a report about an unwanted person on West Park Avenue. Upon arrival, police found two people were at odds over a $50 debt. However, prior to police arrival, the debt had been paid, and they were directed to have no further contact with each other.
- Police received a report about a protection from abuse order violation from a State Street woman. She claimed her child’s father violated the PFA order by sending a text message that was unrelated to their child. Police read the message and consulted with the District Attorney. Both agreed the message didn’t constitute a violation.
- Police received a report about a male who was looking into a resident’s windows on Weber Avenue. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate a male matching the provided description.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance on Weber Avenue. Upon arrival, police found that it was verbal in nature, and there hadn’t been any assault. No arrests were made as a result of the incident.
- Police received a report about two females who were fighting on Church Street. Upon arrival, police found that it was verbal in nature, and there hadn’t been any assault. Police advised the females to resolve their matters in private and in a civil manner.
- Police received a report about road rage. According to police, a female was tailgated by a male to her place of employment after an incident at DuBois & DuBois. Police say the female was unharmed, and the suspect fled when confronted by security. No arrests have been made at this time.
- Police received a report about an online dating site scam from a Scribner Avenue woman. According to police, the woman was asked to wire money to a male, whom she’d met online. Police say the wire transfer wouldn’t go through, so the woman sent cash to a Michigan address. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about people using shopping carts from a local grocery store and then leaving them along the curb. Police ordered the people to return the carts, which they did.
- Police received a report about a male who had made comments about harming himself. Officers located the male and assisted him with obtaining professional help.
- Police received a report from a Church Street man that he was being harassed by people in a truck. However, officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
- Police received a report about an intoxicated male who was refusing to leave a property in the 400 block of West DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival, police found the male who was hiding on the residence’s rear porch. Upon further investigation, police found he wouldn’t leave a female resident alone. Police took the male into custody, and charges will be filed against him.
- Police received a report Nov. 1 about a “strong arm robbery” in the area of Locust Street. According to police, a juvenile victim was standing in front of a house talking to someone when two females pulled him inside. Once inside, they allegedly took his cellular phone, shoes and money. Upon investigation, police found the juvenile was provided money to deliver marijuana and had failed to. The money taken from him was what had paid for the marijuana. Police advised the juvenile’s father of the incident; the juvenile was then released to him.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a woman who was carrying a child in the 500 block of Liberty Boulevard. Police located the woman and didn’t find any reason for concern.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male juvenile on Jared Street who could have been mistreated. Upon arrival, police located the juvenile and his mother, and both reported that everything was OK.
- Police received a report about an intoxicated female who was walking along Brady Street. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the female.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance on West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police could hear a male yelling and slamming doors. When the female was contacted, she advised the male had left via a rear exit. He was located and determined to have an outstanding warrant through Domestic Relations. He was subsequently arrested and transported to county jail.
- Police received a report about a male who was hiding behind buildings and waiting for his ex-girlfriend to leave work at Penn Highlands. Upon arrival, police located the male and then contacted the female. She declined prosecution and police released the male.
- Police received a report about unwanted persons at the Manor Motel. Upon arrival, police located three occupants trying to leave in a vehicle. When police made contact with them, it was determined two had outstanding arrest warrants. Police say the agencies didn’t want to have the warrants enforced, and all three people were released as a result.
- Police received a report about loud music on Luther Avenue. Upon arrival, police made contact with a male who stated he’d fallen asleep. He was requested to turn down his music, which he did.
- Police received a report about a Luthersburg woman being harassed via cellular phone. She was directed to contact the Pennsylvania State Police.
- Police received a report about an alleged sexual assault that occurred in the Helvetia area. The complainant was directed to contact the state police.
- Police received a report about a woman being verbally accosted by an unknown male at the Martin’s gas pumps. He accused the woman of stealing his pump and berated her for it. However, he left the scene prior to police receiving the call.
- Police received a report from a West Long Avenue man. He told police he’d been carjacked and robbed of $90,000 at the DuBois Mall. Police directed the man to contact Sandy Township police.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance at a South Brady Street address. Upon arrival, police learned a female had allegedly been assaulted. They placed a male in custody and transported him to county jail for arraignment.
- Police received a report about a male who was walking behind homes on DuBois Street. When police spoke with him, he stated that he was walking home. He was directed to use the sidewalk instead of private property.
- Police were requested to assist with an unruly patient at the Penn Highlands emergency room. Upon arrival, officers assisted as needed, and the hospital staff declined to have the male cited for the incident.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance on Spring Avenue. Upon arrival, police found it was verbal in nature, and those involved agreed to separate for the night. No arrests were made as a result of the incident.
- Brockway police requested for a Spring Avenue woman to be contacted in reference to her taking a vehicle without permission. Officers located the female at her residence and she agreed to return the vehicle and meet with Brockway police.
