CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Rotary recently supported Fuel Aid with a $1,000 donation.

Mark Sopic, coordinator of the event, visited the Rotary Club and explained that the local fundraiser will help kick off Curwensville’s Home for the Holidays celebration with its 11th annual concert Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Curwensville Christian Church.

This concert, as well as numerous local fundraising events and private donations, benefits the Curwensville Ministerium’s fuel fund.

It is a local effort to provide emergency aid to those in the Curwensville area needing assistance with their heating bills during the winter months.

This year’s event features local talent performing as “The Girls from the USO” and will once again be held at the Curwensville Christian Church at 700 State St., in Curwensville beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $5, plus a free-will offering will be taken during the program.  As always, 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Ministerium’s Fuel Fund and all performers donate their time and talents toward helping others.
