CLEARFIELD – After a 45-minute executive session on possible litigation and personnel, the Clearfield Municipal Authority voted yesterday to give Manager John Williams a $10,000 increase in base salary

Williams’ base salary will increase from $50,000 to $60,000, effective immediately.  There was no action taken on the possible litigation or any discussion.

The board received some updates, as well. In regards to the Pine Grove North water main extension project, the board learned that the design and permitting phase is about 87 percent complete.

The easements for the pump station and tank location have also been taken care of. The state Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation has recently reviewed the design progress.

Also, nearly everything is complete at the new wastewater treatment facility, and the contractors are working on final punch list items.

Additionally, Lawrence Township is continuing to work on inflow and infiltration issues in the sanitary sewer system and has started sending letters to residents to correct issues.

Finally, a new line project is being finished up before paving on West Sixth Street, and Williams said the new backhoe has been invaluable and is proving to be a cost savings, though the authority has not committed to purchasing the equipment.
