DUBOIS – Charges have been filed against a DuBois man who was allegedly lying naked in a doorway.
James U. Connelley, 57, was charged with open lewdness and disorderly conduct by DuBois City police. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 30 during centralized court.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, police responded to a report at 9:10 a.m. about a naked male lying in the doorway of a residence near East Second Avenue.
The woman who complained said she was driving south on North Fourth Street when she saw a nude male lying halfway out of a doorway.
When an officer responded to that area, he saw the man with “his gluteus maximus” outside of the apartment and the lower half of his body facing the direction of another residence. This location is a half block from the Penn State DuBois campus and only two blocks from the DuBois Area High School.
The man, identified as Connelley, was lying on a sleeping bag, and he had a fan blowing on him from inside the apartment. There was a case of beer beside him, the officer reported.
Connelley told the officer he was “just trying to warm up” and admitted to drinking several beers that morning.
