Steven C. “Turk” Terry, 79, of Clearfield died Friday, June 2, 2017 at UPMC Altoona Regional Hospital.
Born Sept. 16, 1937 in Grassflat, he was the son of Steve and Anna (Wansock) Terry.
He was a 1955 graduate of the Cooper Township High School. He was employed by both Dotts Motors and Auto Mart, both of Clearfield, for 35-plus years as a car salesman. He then retired from Auto Mart.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved Pittsburgh sports and enjoyed going to bingo.
He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clearfield and a former member of the Grassflat L.O.O.M.
On Jan. 26, 1963 in Houtzdale, he wed the former Mary Lou Sinclair, who survives, after 54 years of marriage. Also surviving are a daughter, Brenda L. Terry of Clearfield and a son, Steven C. Terry II and his wife, Courtney of Clearfield.
In addition, he is survived by a grandson, Cole Terry of Clearfield; a brother, Richard “Dick” Terry and his wife, Peggy of Curwensville; and a sister, Linda Shetler and her husband, Michael of Grassflat.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Schaeffer; and a brother, William “Bill” Terry.
Funeral services for Mr. Terry will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 217 E. Pine St., Clearfield, with Pastor Robert Way officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 16 N. Front St., Clearfield, and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
