Gerald C. Sankey, 74, of Osceola Mills died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home.

Born Nov. 17, 1942 in Brisbin, he was the son of the late Thomas and June (Schoonover) Sankey. 

He married Melody F. (Hosband) Sankey on Dec. 6, 1969 in Sandy Ridge. She survives at home.

Mr. Sankey was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Houtzdale.

He was retired from Penelec at the Shawville Station. He was also a 1960 graduate of the Moshannon Valley High School. 

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Osceola Mills Lodge No. 515 F.&A.M.; Loyal Order of the Moose No. 327, Houtzdale; and the American Legion Post No. 591, Houtzdale.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Loree A. Jordan and one brother, Thomas L. Sankey.

Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Diana D. Cartwright and her husband, Andrew of Sandy Ridge, Karen J. Sankey and her husband, Kevin Dressler of State College and Denise E. Harmic and her husband, Steven of Clearfield; one brother, Rick Sankey of Brisbin; and five grandchildren, Baylee, Rachel, Adam, Jack and Audrey.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills with the Rev. Father William Ellis officiating.  Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Masonic Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday; Loyal Order of the Moose Memorial Services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
