CANOE TOWNSHIP – Punxsutawney-based state police are actively seeking a wanted male who fled from parole officers.
State police have identified the male as Randy Ray Shank Jr. He reportedly fled from parole officers this morning at 188 Dug. Hill Rd., in Canoe Township in Indiana County.
According to state police, he fled the residence in a white Chevrolet Cavalier. He crashed the vehicle a short distance away on Barnett Hill Road.
Shank is now believed to be fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. There is an active warrant for his arrest, and he is known to have “violent tendencies,” state police said.
Shank has been described as standing 6 feet, 1-inch tall and weighing around 260 pounds. He has short reddish/brown hair.
Shank was last known to be wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt (possibly with a John Deere logo) and jeans. He has a full beard/mustache and multiple tattoos about his body.
State police are actively searching for Shank on the ground and by air. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to please contact the state police at Punxsutawney at 814-938-0510.
