CLEARFIELD – A contract between Clearfield Municipal Authority and the employees’ union, AFSCME, was approved by the CMA board after a short executive session yesterday.

The board also authorized Solicitor John Ryan to take necessary action in regards to acquiring property for a tank for the proposed waterline extension in the Glen Richey/Clover Hill area.

During the engineer’s report the board learned that while the design is progressing for the extension, they are having some difficulty with locating the tank.

Engineer Jim Balliet of Gwin, Dobson and Foreman Inc. of Altoona also advised that a report has been submitted to the state Department of Environmental Protection regarding closing the Moose Creek Sanitary Sewer Overflow, which was to be permanently closed by April 30.

The Combined Sewer Overflow long-term control plan and Montgomery Run SSO corrective action plan were also submitted.  He said no SSO discharges have occurred since the last meeting.

He added that Lawrence Township has been televising laterals and looking for French Drains and have been documenting all they find and bringing the reports to the supervisors.

The board approved moving the June meeting to June 27 at 4 p.m. at the Moose Creek Water Treatment Facility.
