LANDOVER, MD — Ellen Collins, daughter of Scott and Beth Collins of Glen Richey and a 9th Grader at Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School, competed on Sunday April 9 at the USAG Junior Olympic level 9 regional competition in Landover, Maryland.
In addition to Pennsylvania, athletes from Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey also competed.
Colins’ 9.7 vault earned her the gold medal, while she also placed third for a silver medal on the balance beam.
Collins is a member of the Centre Elite Gymnastics team out of State College and is coached by Jen Bortz and Tracy Salvino-Longenecker.
