CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday, the Clearfield County Commissioners accepted the resignations of Tony Scotto and Mark B. McCracken from the Clearfield County Recreation & Tourism Authority.
Scotto and McCracken, who were commissioner members of the tourism board, announced their plans to resign at the last CCRTA meeting.
“We have fulfilled our purpose,” said Scotto, adding the commissioners believe the tourism authority is heading in the right direction, and they want more community involvement.
According to McCracken, the amended articles for the board reduced the number of seats from 12 to nine, and there are currently seven members on the board without himself and Scotto.
McCracken said this past fall, the duo of commissioners had expressed intentions of stepping down once things settled and were moving forward at CCRTA.
“Now, we’re keeping that pledge,” he said. He also pointed out that the tourism authority’s new director, Josiah Jones started Monday.
In addition to two tourism board seats, the county needs to fill vacancies on the DuBois Airport Authority, Community Action and Conservation District boards.
Anyone interested in serving on the boards is asked to send a letter of interest to the commissioners before their next regular meeting April 11.
